Work with Us

Veterinary and Community Care (VaCC) supports social-hearted veterinary practice for animal custodians experiencing vulnerabilities, to improve the health and well-being of animals and all who care for them.

This is achieved by providing veterinary and allied human health support services to people experiencing disadvantage and supporting a sustainable veterinary profession where healthy veterinary teams can thrive in a financially viable business.

Our core values are inclusion, trust, support, and collaboration.

As part of your volunteer work with us, you’ll have:

  • an opportunity to work with a dedicated, passionate and visionary team of volunteer one health-one welfare leaders from veterinary and associated sectors. Making a real difference.
  • the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, such as our veterinary social worker training program.
  • a thorough introduction to our organisation via our induction program
  • an assigned buddy and a team to support you
  • flexible volunteer working arrangements, and hours that suit you, across Australia.
  • opportunities to gain new and transferable knowledge, skills and abilities to use in your everyday work.
  • a real sense of belonging in a team that truly appreciates you and your work.
  • opportunities to network at our VaCC community events

If this sounds like your ideal volunteer role, please join us! Below are the following positions available.

Veterinary social workers collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes, client experience, and caregiver support. Veterinarians and their teams are not usually trained to work with people experiencing crisis, trauma, or grief. A veterinary social worker can help alleviate some of these pressures by adding professional expertise to high-emotion situations.

Do you have other skills that you’d like to offer, not listed here? Please get in touch, we would like to hear from you.
